The Fox and the Grapes
There was a fox was living in a forest. It went around looking for prey in the forest. After roaming around for long, it came across a vineyard. Ripe grapes were hanging in bunches in the vineyard.
ஒரு காட்டில் நரி ஒன்று இருந்தது. அது இரையைத் தேடி அலைந்து திரிந்தது. வெகுநேரம் அலைந்த பின் ஒரு திராட்சைத் தோட்டத்தைக் கண்டது. அதில் கொத்துக் கொத்தாகத் திராட்சைப் பழங்கள் தொங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தன.
In order to feast on the grapes, the fox jumped up to reach the bunches.
அந்தப் பழங்களைத் தின்ன நரி விரும்பியது. குதித்துக்குதித்து அக்குலையைப் பறிக்க முயன்றது.
Since the grapes were high on the climber, the fox could not reach them. After some time, the fox got very tired.
கொடியின் மிக உயரத்தில் திராட்சை இருந்ததால், நரி அவற்றை எட்ட முடியவில்லை. மேலும் குதிக்க முடியாமல் நரி தளர்ச்சி அடைந்தது.
Even after jumping many times, the fox did not succeed in reaching the grapes. Hence, the fox got dejected.
பலமுறை முயன்றும் அது கிடைக்காததால், நரி வெறுப்பும், வேதனையும் அடைந்தது.
Finally, in anger the fox said disgustedly, "Yuk! These are sour grapes" and ran away.
கடைசியில் கோபமாக ''சீச்சி! இந்தப் பழம் புளிக்கும்'' என்று இகழ்ந்து பேசிவிட்டு ஓடிவிட்டது! |
