There were two bulls, one white and the other brown. The white bull said to the brown one, "I am stronger than you; I am your king." The brown bull replied, "Certainly not! I am young and I can easily defeat you." The two started fighting.
இரண்டு எருதுகள் இருந்தன. ஒன்று வெள்ளை, மற்றொன்று பழுப்பு நிறம். வெள்ளை எருது பழுப்பு எருதுவிடம் சொன்னது " நான் உன்னைவிடப் பலசாலி. நான் உன் அரசன்." அதற்குப் பழுப்பு எருது "கண்டிப்பாக இல்லை! நான் உன்னைவிட வயதில் சிறியவன். உன்னை எளிதில் தோற்கடித்து விடுவேன்" என்றது. இரண்டும் சண்டை போடத் தொடங்கின.
Nearby, there was a pond, and many frogs lived in and around it. These frogs were thrilled to watch the bulls fight. But the king-frog warned them, "Move away, bulls will crush you to death!"
அருகிலிருந்த ஒரு குளத்தின் உள்ளும் அருகிலும் ஏராளமான தவளைகள் வசித்தன. அவை எருதுகளின் சண்டையைப் பார்த்து மிகச் சந்தோஷம் அடைந்தன. தவளை அரசன் அவற்றை "நகர்ந்து செல்லுங்கள். எருதுகள் உங்களை மிதித்துக் கொன்றுவிடும்!" என்று எச்சரித்தது.
But the young frogs did not care for the warning of their leader.
ஆனால் இளம் தவளைகள் தம் தலைவனின் எச்சரிப்பைப் பொருட்படுத்தவில்லை.
The fighting bulls were now on the edge of the pond. Many frogs were crushed to death under their hooves.
போரிடும் எருதுகள் குளத்தின் ஓரத்திற்கே வந்துவிட்டன. பல தவளைகள் எருதுக் குளம்புகளில் நசுங்கி இறந்தன.
We should respect and follow the words of the wise.
