The Ants and the Grasshopper
1. It was a winter day. The Ants were drying grain collected in the summertime.
1. அது ஒரு மழை நாள். கோடையில் சேகரித்த தானியத்தை எறும்புகள் உலர்த்திக் கொண்டிருந்தன.
2. A hungry Grasshopper came that way and begged for a little food. The Ants asked
"Why did you not save food during the summer for the coming winter days?"
2. ஒரு வெட்டுக்கிளி அங்கே பசியோடு வந்து சிறிது உணவு தரும்படிக் கெஞ்சியது. "வரப்போகும் மழைநாளுக்காக நீ ஏன் கோடைக்காலத்தில் உணவு சேமித்து வைத்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை?" என்று எறும்புகள் கேட்டன.
3. The Grasshopper replied "I was singing all the Summer and had no time to for food gathering".
3. "கோடை முழுவதும் நான் பாடிக்கொண்டிருந்ததில் உணவு சேகரிக்க நேரமே கிடைக்கவில்லை" என்றது வெட்டுக்கிளி.
4. "If you were foolish enough to sing all the Summer, you must dance supperless to bed in the Winter" shouted the Ants in chorus.
4. "வெய்யில் நாள் முழுவது பாடும் அளவுக்கு நீ முட்டாளானால், மழைநாளில் உணவின்றி ஆடியபடி நீ படுக்கப் போகவேண்டியதுதான்" என்று எறும்புகள் ஒரே குரலில் கூவின. |
