Two pots
Two pots, one made of earthenware and the other of brass, were floating down the river.
ஒரு மண் பானையும், ஒரு பித்தளைப் பானையும் ஆற்று நீரில் மிதந்து போய்க்கொண்டிருந்தன.
The Earthen Pot said to the Brass Pot, "Pray keep at a distance and do not come near me."
மண் பானை பித்தளைப் பானையிடம், "தயவு செய்து நீ எட்டியே இரு, என் கிட்டே வராதே" என்று வேண்டிக் கொண்டது.
The Brass Pot asked, "Why do say that?"
"ஏன் அப்படிச் சொல்கிறாய்?" என்று கேட்டது பித்தளைப் பானை.
"If you touch me ever so slightly, I shall be broken in pieces. Besides, I by no means wish to come near you," said the Earthern Pot "
"நீ எவ்வளவு மெதுவாக என்மேல் பட்டாலும் நான் சுக்கு நூறாக உடைந்துபோவேன். மேலும் உன் கிட்டே வர எனக்கு விருப்பம் இல்லை" என்றது மண் பானை.
Equals make the best friends.
சமமானவர்கள் நட்பே நல்ல நட்பு.
